Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and we all celebrate it in our own unique way, whether it’s a day of spoiling your other half (or yourself!) with colourful flowers, chocolates and goodies, or a day of hiding under the blanket with your favourite movie on repeat.
Arriving on a Wednesday this year, it’s likely most couples will be celebrating the special occasion with a nice candle-lit home-cooked meal and plans for the weekend to visit romantic places of interest, from beautifully decorated restaurants, to the cinema or maybe even the ice skating rink where you met the love of your life when he skated straight into you without so much as a warning.
Many people like to make a big fuss over the romantic opportunities that Valentine’s brings, while others choose to celebrate Valentine’s Day throughout the year. There’s nothing wrong with treating her to flowers once a month – honestly, we don’t mind! The celebrations of love don’t have to be squeezed into one day and forgotten about until the following year. Sharing the love doesn’t have to be expensive either – pick her some flowers next time you go for a walk, make (and eat!) a selection of cakes together until you both pop the buttons on your jeans, visit a local petting zoo to stroke the animals, get crafty and start a scrapbook, or light up the room with candles, cuddle up with her and watch her favourite cheesy movie that you’ve seen 20 times – there are so many ways to be romantic without eliminating the bank balance!
To those who will be celebrating alone under a fluffy blanket with a personal bucket of popcorn, cheesy love movies and tissues at the ready: sorry for the mush that couples will waft over you this Valentine’s week. Enjoy your own company and having the bed all to yourself – you will miss snuggling up with the entire cover when you meet your blanket-hogger soulmate. And it’s understandable if you want to avidly avoid social media for the day as it seems that everyone always seems to have their cheesy photos and love messages at the ready to take over our news feeds. Have that extra glass of wine, treat yourself to chocolates and enter our jewellery competition – you deserve it!
So as previously stated – you don’t have to be rich to show someone (or yourself) how much you love them. For those feeling the pinch this year, why not enter our competition to be in with a chance of winning £20 to spend with us, plus free delivery. Click here to be redirected to our Competition page.
It’s totally free to enter – you don’t even need to create an account. Good luck!
